Colourful, vibrant La Choza is a must if you like Mexican street food!
We strolled around the lanes on a beautiful Sunday. Slightly hungover, we both felt quite indecisive on what would cure our hunger pangs. Everywhere looked good, but WAY too busy. Not at all what we needed in our fragile state. Then Ben suggested La Choza. He’d been before and had even got gift vouchers for his sister – it was that good.
The outdoor long table covered in colourful floral pattern, flowers in tequila bottles and vibrant seats, all made everything feel fun and relaxed. The waitress was polite and friendly and the menu was easy to work around for a newbie like me.
The main menu is a create you own kind of vibe. You choose 3 steps (With prices varying from £8.50 to £9.50 per dish):
- Choose your base
- Choose your filling
- Choose your salsa & turn up the heat
We opted for the pulled pork quesadilla with chipotle salsa, and the soft corn tacos with chicken & homemade Mexican chorizo.
Both were to die for! In fact our conclusion was they were the perfect combo as you got the naughtiness of the heavy cheesed pulled pork quesadilla, with the fresh crispness of the soft corn tacos.
From the restaurant to the food, this place is colour on colour! We decided to eat outside in the street as it was a beautiful day, but you HAVE to pop inside just to see the decor.
As it was my first time to Brighton we also explored Hove beach, the Pavilion and Brighton Pier…
Highly recommend, Great to take Friends, Pricer side for lunch but great for treating yourself, Delicious street food, Full of colour if you’re feeling blue!
